The existing Cantle Street studio was enlarged in 2018 to encompass more wall and storage space, and a small bathroom with integrated artworks. An illuminated ceiling piece was integrated into the length of the bathroom that connected to artwork embedded into the building’s Aneeta window.

The glass sheets of the Aneeta window were printed with coloured stripes to the artist’s specified design using a ceramic based printing ink (Imagink), by Cooling Brother’s Glass, Perth. The design features horizontal stripes on one glass sheet and vertical stripes on the other. The artist then created sandblasted stripes over the coloured linear elements to produce a semi-obscure window. When the window is opened or closed the horizontal and vertical stripes move across each other to create a shifting ‘checked’ pattern. There is also a shifting presence in the artwork throughout the day according to seasonal and lighting conditions. Interesting shadows and reflections play across the tiled wall and floor.
The 2.2 metre x 15 cm illuminated ceiling work was inspired by the illuminated objects created by the artist featured in the Research section of this website. It is comprised of routed Satin Ice Plexiglass, plastic rods and LEDs.
